Who’s ready for a new De La Soul album? The group has met their Kickstarter goal.
Last month, the group initiated a Kickstarter to fund their upcoming album. Having exceeded their goal of $110,000 in 24 hours (bringing in $180,974), the fund still had 30 days left to take in contributions. The campaign ended this weekend with the group raking in a whopping $600,874 from 11,169 backers, nearly a Kickstarter record, according to the trio.
“Thank you so much to all of you for rewarding us with your time and help!,” they captioned an Instagram post. “We have not only become the second most funded music project on Kickstarter, but we have also gained a clearer insight into how you feel about us as a group and what we do. You have helped directly play a part in giving us the much needed creative fuel by showing that we still matter to all of you! In knowing that we feel nothing less than number 1!!!
