WATCH: Amy Winehouse Documentary Trailer

amyAfter some recent pushback from Amy’s family, the trailer has finally been released.

Directed by Asif Kapadia, the doc is compiled of a series of nostalgic and never-before-seen footage and interviews of the late singer, who died at the age of 27 in 2011 due to alcohol poisoning.

“The thing is, I don’t think I’m gonna be at all famous,” the “Rehab” singer says in the trailer, which was released on Wednesday.

The film documents not only her rise to fame, but also her unraveling through substance abuse and unhealthy relationships.

Winehouse’s family has been staunchly opposed to the documentary, calling it “unbalanced” and “misleading.”

In a statement issued by a spokesperson in April, the family said they wish to “disassociate themselves from the forthcoming film,” despite initially supporting the project.

Watch the trailer below ahead of its U.S. debut on July 10.
