Piers Morgan Condemns Nicki Minaj & Black Twitter; Praises Taylor Swift

PiersHelp me understand why Piers Morgan – like Taylor Swift – feels the need to interject himself into Nicki’s thoughts or concerns.

Yet, he has chosen to pen a scathing article blasting not only Nicki Minaj but Black Twitter. Meanwhile he feels for poor Taylor Swift. Here are some highlights of the article:

On why Nicki’s “Anaconda” video didn’t get nominated.

“The reason your video didn’t get nominated for Video of the Year, Ms Minaj, is that it wasn’t as good as the others which did. Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran and Kendrick Lamar all made better ones. That’s not my opinion because I’m white. Or because I prefer skinny women to more voluptuous women (for the record, I don’t…). It’s my opinion based on watching them all, and agreeing with the nominations.”

On #BlackTwitter:

“Taylor was promptly eaten alive on social media by the self-styled ‘Black Twitter’ – a very large, vocal and aggressive social media group of mainly black Americans who collectively leap on any perceived racial insult or bias to expel their indignation. By coincidence, I myself also ran foul of Black Twitter yesterday when I responded to the current popular activist hashtag ‘#BlackLivesMatter’ by tweeting: ‘#ALLLivesmatter.’ I was trending in America for several hours as Black Twitter vented its wrath at my supposed attempt to ‘delegitimize black lives.’”

My two-cents: A couple of things … First and foremost people love to use Beyonce, Jay Z and now Kendrick Lamar as the poster children for why the entertainment business isn’t racist. “They win awards,” the majority says. And that’s true. They do, but it happens over and over and over again. There are a slew of other minority artists. Having the same black artists continually win isn’t a nod to their greatness. It’s the equivalent of having that one black friend to prove you’re not a racist. So you give Beyonce her award and then you proceed to grant the remaining 99 awards to the majority.

Second … I find it laughable that Taylor Swift has managed to become the victim in a situation that had nothing to do with her. I mean that’s truly a talent. Why she chose to chime in is beyond me. Shout out to Katy Perry for calling her ass out. Shout to Nicki for not backing down from her passive aggressive comments.

Third … the fact that Piers can’t see the point that Nicki was making with TIDAL is all the proof I need that he’s racially insensitive. Yes, Taylor’s music is now streamed by TIDAL, but how did her endorsement make her a visionary for upcoming artists while Jay Z was a greedy artist. A blind man can see the double standard.

I could go on and on about how offensive I find his comments about black Twitter but I’m just getting more upset … The bottom line is this Piers is a vile, vile man. And Taylor, she proved that she’s the conniving woman I always thought she was.
