All sexist, racist and homophobic talk and behaviour is a no-no right? We all got that memo right? Well someone tell Tip. He got himself into a tiny recently when he insinuated that women weren’t the best people to serve as President.
In an interview with DJ Whoo Kid, Tip shared “Not to be sexist, but I can’t vote for the leader of the free world to be a woman. Every other position that exists, I think a woman could do well. But the president?”
The rapper continued in this vein for some time. “It’s kinda like, I just know that women make rash decisions emotionally. They make very permanent, cemented decisions, and then later, it’s kind of like it didn’t happen, or they didn’t mean for it to happen. And I sure would hate to just set off a nuke. [Other leaders] will not be able to negotiate the right kinds of foreign policy. The world ain’t ready yet. I think you might be able to the Loch Ness Monster elected before you could [get a woman].” (Watch the video below)
Well today (Oct 13) he ate those words via an apology, writing, “My comments about women running for president were unequivocally insensitive and wrong. I sincerely apologize to everyone I offended.”
No when it came to Trump, Tip at least approved of his approach to business. “He’s interesting and I feel he’s the best showman of them all,” the MC noted. “And I do feel that if he is sincerely concerned about the economy of America and the working public, he would be the best person to flip the money that we have.”
However, he wasn’t entirely comfortable with Trump’s platform. “You know, his racist remarks and all of his off-color statements and all that shit it makes it impossible to be completely supportive of him. But just knowing what he’s done for business for himself, if he intends to do that for America, it would be beneficial. But I can’t cast no vote for him.”
My two-cents: I need Tip to do better… seriously, that was bad. Obviously he hasn’t been exposed to a true female boss. He’s beyond offensive….And my pockets are offended as well. No Tip purchases for s minute.
