Beyonce Wins Big at the 2016 BET Awards

beyonce-kendrick-BET-ohsodjThe BET Awards took place Sunday night (June 26) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles and the night’s big winner was Beyonce.

After opening the show with Kendrick Lamar to perform “Freedom” from her Lemonade album, she took home four awards including Best Female R&B/ Pop Artist and Video of the Year.

Other big winners included Drake and Bryon Tiller who took home three and two awards, respectively.

The show also featured tributes to Prince by a slew of artists, including Jennifer Hudson, Stevie Wonder, Tori Kelly, Erykah Badu, Bilal, Janelle Monae and Sheila E.

Also delivering a rememberable appearance was Grey’s Anatomy star Jesse Williams who received the Humanitarian Award. His riveting words were a call to action against the injustice and violence facing African Americans in America.
