Snoop Dogg Drops His Autobiographical Film ‘COOLAID: The Movie’

On Friday (April 28), Snoop Dogg debuted the autobiographical film COOLAID: The Movie, which chronicles his life and the pivotal moments that led to the rise of Snoop’s music empire. The movie is a reflection of Snoop’s latest record, also called COOLAID, and serves as the visual companion to his new music.

Starting with his childhood, the film chronicles Snoop’s early dreams of becoming a football player and later the downfall of his involvement with drugs and gang life. Highlighting the start of his music career along with his infamous murder trial, the film sheds light on the highs and lows that come with stardom and how the artist became a musical force in pop culture today.

“This is a piece that is near and dear to me — it’s a personal journey of my life,” Snoop Dogg said in a press release announcing the film. “The videos, dialogue and music were hand-selected to depict pivotal moments in my career and look forward to sharing it with my fans. Can’t wait to hear what ya’ll think!”
