Chris Brown Sues Philippines Promoter Alleging Extortion

Chris Brown is involved in another lawsuit, but this time he’s filing suit. He is suing a promoter from the Philippines who he claims tried to extort him out of $300,000.

The incident dates back to 2014. Breezy was set to perform at a New Year’s Eve show in the Philippines, but had to reschedule because of passport issues. The rescheduled show went down in July 2015.

According to the suit, when Brown went to leave the hotel the next day, armed men wouldn’t allow him to exit. The singer was told by the lawyer for the arena that he would be arrested if he didn’t pay Jose Victor Los Banos Biongco $300,000. Luckily Brown wasn’t falling for it and called up an immigration lawyer who got him out of the country. However, the incident clearly didn’t sit right with him. In the suit, Chris claims he has suffered from emotional distress due to the incident.
