Chris Brown’s Lawyers Ask for Emergency Hearing

chris_jailThis is an example of when keeping it real goes wrong. It’s all fun and games until people hold hearings on how to transport you.

So the latest is that Washington prosecutors want Chris Brown shackeled and escorted back east for trial in the custody of U.S. marshals.

Mark Geragos, Chris’ lawyer, doesn’t think all of that is necessary. He has asked for an emergency hearing Tuesday on how to transport his client from Los Angeles, where Chris is in jail for violating probation in his 2009 Rihanna case, to the nation’s capital, where he faces a separate assault rap.

Geragos wants the judge to release Chris into his personal custody for a flight from Los Angeles to Washington that won’t cost taxpayers a dime.

He also wants Chris to remain out of jail for the Washington assault trial, which starts April 17, and that he’ll be responsible for getting the singer to court each day.

This whole DC case stems from a man alleging that Chris punched him in the face during a sidewalk skirmish just blocks from the White House last October.

The victim, Parker Adams, a 20-year-old art student now suing Brown and his bodyguard for $1.5 million each.

Adams had blood on his face and shirt when officers arrived and was treated at a hospital for a fractured nasal bone, a police report obtained by The News stated.
