Bobby Shmurda Speaks from Jail

bobby.shmurda_ohsodjPoor Bobby Shmurda has been jailed since Dec. 17, when the NYPD raided Quad Recording studios in Times Square and arrested the 20-year-old along with about a dozen others.

And the charges are serious. Prosecutors have specifically identified Bobby as a “driving force” in the East Flatbush-based gang and record label GS9, charging him with multiple counts of conspiracy, weapons possession, reckless endangerment, and criminal use of drug paraphernalia. For the most serious of his conspiracy charges, Shmurda could face up to 25 years in prison.

On Saturday (Feb. 7), Billboard spoke with Bobby.

How is it in there?

Has it been hard on you?
Not that hard. I get a lot of love in here.

People in there know who you are and know “Hot Boy”?
Yeah, everybody. Every time I walk the halls, I see people and they yell out “Ah Ah!” or something.

Besides your mother, who have you been in touch with?
I talked to Meek [Mill]. I talked to French [Montana]. I talked to Migos. I stay in contact with people.
