The cops didn\u2019t save him, and I don\u2019t even think about the cops saving me, so I just took action to protect myself.\u201d Ever since then, he says, he\u2019s been trapped in a structure that makes no effort to appreciate his sacrifices, his worth, or his ambition. \u201cWhen you\u2019re telling me I\u2019m not shit,\u201d he says, \u201cyou got to look at it from my point of view. I always wanted to say this to the judge: \u2018Think about your son. If your son grew up in the neighborhood, and his father was dead, but he\u2019s able to rise up above it all and start taking care of you, your mother, and your whole family? He\u2019s taking responsibility.\u2019 So when you got a white lady in a courtroom, who don\u2019t know you from a can of paint, saying I\u2019m not shit and I need to be put in jail? That\u2019s offensive to me. I look at that as racism. I take that personally.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>On his recent time in jail.<\/strong><br \/>\n\u201cI heard his disappointment,\u201d [Rick] Ross says. \u201cThe rage he felt that he couldn\u2019t communicate his situation in the courtroom. I remember telling him, \u2018You\u2019re not going to make this a personal fight.\u2019\u201d As they walked the yard, the other inmates noticed the two rappers together and began banging on the walls in tribute. \u201cYou just started hearing that beating go around the whole building,\u201d Ross says. <\/p>\n<p><strong>On being strong in the music industry.<\/strong><br \/>\n&#8220;Being who I am, in my position, you can\u2019t just be nice. You have to give people some direction. You got to be a monster.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nOn Nicki the perceived engagement to Nicki Minaj. <\/strong><br \/>\n\u201cIt\u2019s definitely real,\u201d he says of their relationship, \u201cbut it ain\u2019t really time to get married yet.
