Everyone wants to BE HEARD – new artists and rising artists alike. So OhSoDJ.com is happy to kick off our new campaign providing an introduction of new music to our readers. With that, we launch with Ciph Boogie.

Early memories of music for Ciph date back to his late grandmother’s apartment in the late 90s looking down as Jay-Z shot the video for the classic, Grammy nominated “Hard Knock Life” – just near the same Marcy Houses housing project where the future superstar and mogul grew up.

Inspired by groundbreakers like Hov, Biggie and Nas, Ciph began writing his own rhymes.

He released his first mixtape in late 2006 and since then has been on a steady rise with 2 more bodies of work since – “Black a Mamba” and Sometime In New York City Vol. 1.” He’s opened for respected acts including Papoose, Black Rob and Sheek Louch of the Lox.

Now with the first single off his next EP – “Sometime In New York City Vol. 2” – set to drop in the next few weeks, Ciph will prove he’s a force to be reckoned with.

Career Goal: “To reach the masses with my message which is determination, hard work, motivation, and just enjoying life to the fullest.”

Musical Style: “I don’t like to really say I have a style per se. I like to describe my music as the “Human Experience.” I like to focus on the good and bad of life because that’s how life is. There are good moments and there are bad moments. It’s the realistic approach that relates to my audience.”

What You Want People To Know About You: “What i want people to know about me is that I give 1,000% of myself to the music. My thing is quality. I focus heavily on quality.. I want to present to my audience the best song that they have heard in their life period.”
