The now legendarily disastrous Fyre Fest was supposed to take place on the Bahamas island of Great Exuma last weekend. By now we know those plans imploded in the grandest way possible, but the entrepreneur Billy McFarland, who co-founded the festival alongside Ja Rule, has already talked about doing another festival in the United States next year. But McFarland and Ja Rule will never throw another festival in the Bahamas again. <\/p>\n
TMZ reports that the Bahamas Ministry Of Tourism is planning to vet any future festivals a lot more strictly. It\u2019s going to requite festival organizers to check in with the Board multiple times while planning their events. And the Board has also banned McFarland and Ja from doing any business in the island nation ever again.<\/p>\n
And that’s just beginning of Ja and Billy’s woes. On Sunday (May 1) attorney Mark Geragos (Chris Brown, Michael Jackson) filed a proposed $100 million class-action lawsuit against organizers on behalf of client Daniel Jung. The suit accuses organizers of fraud, citing the fest’s “lack of adequate food, water, shelter, and medical care created a dangerous and panicked situation among attendees \u2014 suddenly finding themselves stranded on a remote island without basic provisions.”<\/p>\n
