One of the major claims that Ri believes sent her net worth plummeting was the green light they gave her to buy a $7 million Southern California house even though she was bleeding cash in 2009.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe defendants advised Ms. Fenty by e-mail that purchasing a home in Los Angeles \u2018would be a good investment\u2019 despite knowing Ms. Fenty was experiencing financial difficulties,\u201d wrote Rihanna\u2019s lawyer Edward Estrada. It was claimed that she lost $9 million, leaving her with just $2 million at the end of 2009.<\/p>\n<p>Rihanna\u2019s lawyers claimed Gounis was aware the house she was buying was rotting from water and mold damage, forcing her to spend more than $1 million on improvements before selling it for nearly $2 million less than what she paid.<\/p>\n<p>RiRi later fired the accountants and sued them for $35 million in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Now there&#8217;s word that the firm has offered the singer a settlement of more than $10 million, and papers are due to be signed this week.<\/p>\n<p>Not sure if the offered amount will fly, but good to see it&#8217;s headed toward a &#8216;W&#8217; for her.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\"><p>Rihanna may be headed toward a win in her suit against her former accountants.
