With Hov being a former owner of the Nets and Drizzy serving as the current Global Ambassador of the Raptors, it made for an interesting series. In game 7, after holding onto a considerable lead for most of the game, the Raptors made a comeback in the fourth quarter, and suffered a one-point loss to the Nets with a score of 104-103 (ouch… I feel the pain for them). But, being the two class acts both Hov and Drake are, the ending was handled with grace.

In a rare instance, Jay Z took to Twitter to congratulate the Raptors on a competitive series:

Congrats Toronto on a hard fought series. #spreadloveitsthebrooklynway

— Mr. Carter (@S_C_) May 4, 2014

Returning the gesture, Drake posted to Instagram in celebration of his Raptors’ season with the caption, “Incredible year!
