Tip Reveals He’s Ended His Distribution Partnership with Columbia Records

tipWell we’ve heard a lot from Tip in the past couple of days while promoting his EP Da Nic.

In an interview with HITS Daily Double, he revealed he has ended his distribution partnership with Columbia Records. “Having just exited my deal at Columbia, I was a rogue artist, busting creativity, just waiting to put music in the marketplace,” he said. “So while I’m sorting out my next situation, I’m blessed enough to be able to control my destiny and put music out as quickly as I want to, and was able to release a TIP album, which I had wanted to do for a long time.”

In addition to this news, Tip also mentioned that he’s hard at work for his tenth studio album The Dime Trap. Details have been kept a secret, but he revealed one producer that he’s joined in the studio, Dr. Dre, who dropped the critically-acclaimed Compton project earlier this year.
