Drake Leads 2018 BET Hip-Hop Awards

Drake and Cardi B lead the list of nominees for the 2018 BET Hip Hop Awards, with 11 and 10 nominations, respectively.

For the second consecutive year, the awards ceremony will return to The Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater on Oct. 6. BET Networks will premiere the annual telecast on Oct. 16 (8 p.m. ET/PT).

Rounding out the list of top nominees are Childish Gambino with six nominations. Tied next at five nods each are Travis Scott and Kendrick Lamar. Among Drake’s cache of nominations are nods for Lyricist of the Year, MVP of the Year, Album of the Year and Best Collabo as well as two nods in both the Best Hip Hop Video and Single of the Year categories. Cardi B, the big winner at last year’s ceremony with five awards including Best New Hip Hop Artist, is vying against Drake in several of the aforementioned categories including Album of the Year, Best Hip Hop Video, Album of the Year, MVP of the Year and Single of the Year.
