Kid Cudi Announces New Album

kid-cudi-sbth-coverSo Kid Cudi has just announced that a new album is on the way. He made the announcement to fans via Twitter.

Since his release of Speeding Bullet 2 Heaven that dropped late last year he’s been pretty MIA. In an interview with Billboard which was published yesterday (April 22), Cudi opened up about dealing with drugs and depression throughout his career along with the response of his last project.

“I really came out of that drug shit. People don’t know how real it was,” Cudi tells Billboard’s Brad Wete. “I used drugs to try to fix my depression. It’s funny. When I got arrested [in 2010 with cocaine], people said I was an addict. But I was never an addict; I was just on a ride for a little bit. Playing rock was my way of saying, “F— everyone.” It wasn’t well-received … The last thing I was catering to was the world.”

According to the former GOOD Music artist, he chose happiness above all. “But I can go anywhere, whenever I want. My daughter is in one of the best private schools in the nation.”

Cudi also discussed the negative reception and low sales of Speeding Bullet 2 Heaven and why his next project will be free.

“That’s why whatever I do next will be free. And I don’t even feel obligated to do Man on the Moon 3 anymore,” said Cudi. “It’d be different if the first two were platinum. They’re not even platinum! Man on the Moon 1 is like 860,000 sold. It’s hanging on by a thread.”

Later on in the day, he went to Twitter to discuss his frequent bouts with suicidal thoughts and possible project release during the summer. Check out the tweets below:
