Taxstone Arrested in Connection to Irving Plaza Shooting

Podcast personality Taxstone was arrested today (Jan 16) in connection with a May shooting at an Irving Plaza T.I. concert.

In May of 2016, the shooting rapper Troy Ave wounded and his bodyguard Ronald “Banga” McPhatter dead.

According to police, Taxstone, born Daryl Campbell 31, had been under scrutiny for months for his involvement. He was slated to appear in federal court on a weapons possession charge Tuesday, officials said.

The shooting occurred in a green room on the third floor of the venue where a fight broke out and escalated to gunfire. Footage from inside the green room emerged soon after the news broke, and the shooter was said to be captured on surveillance footage, but no arrest have been made until now.

Following the shooting, Troy Ave was arraigned on charges including attempted murder after footage showed him shooting back at somebody in Irving Plaza. He and his lawyers have since maintained his innocence, claiming self defense.
