Without warning, Tyga’s new album The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty has premiered (June 22) on Spotify. The album was executive-produced by Kanye West and Mike Dean, though the previously released Kanye-produced single “40 Mill” is not present on the album.
Tyga tweeted out a link to listen to the album on Spotify now and thanked Young Money label boss Lil Wayne. He said of the surprise release: “I wanted to do something different which is why I partnered with Spotify for the launch. People can listen to it as much as they want and if they want to buy it after – cool. If not, that’s cool too.”
The album features Lil Wayne, Boosie Badazz and Oakland rapper A.E. In addition to serving as executive producer, Kanye’s creative agency Donda also designed the cover. The album was originally slated to be released in November 2014, but had from multiple delays as Tyga feuded with his label, Cash Money. The album has been released independently from Cash Money.
