In an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe Dre reveals that he will donate the project’s royalties to a new performing arts center in Compton. “I’ve been working on something to make this album really special,” said Dre. “I reached out to Compton’s Mayor Asia Brown and I decided to donate all of my artist royalties from the sale of this album to help fund a new performing arts and entertainment facility for the kids of Compton.”
This wouldn’t be the first time that Dre has given to an academic facility. You might recall the opening of USC’s Jimmy Iovine an Andre Young Academy for Arts, Technology and the Business of Innovation.
