Snoop Dogg Lands AOL Sports Show

snoopSnoop Dogg continues to diversify. He will direct and star in a reality sports video series created through a collaboration between his Snoopadelic Films company and the Internet giant.

Debuting online later this year, the eight short-form episodes will follow players and coaches participating in the Snoop Youth Football League as they travel across the country to compete against rival teams

Snoop made the announcement Monday at AOL’s Future Front event at Pier 36 in New York which was attended by an estimated 2,500 professionals from the media and marketing industry.

“The kids I get to mentor through SYFL means more to me than anything else I do,” the rapper said. “We got kids in the league from all over and the spirit I see from them and their love of the game and life — it moves me. The SYFL is more than just football; it’s about the kids, their families and the life coaching the SYFL provides to the entire community. I want the world to see their stories, talent and commitment — and now they will through our new series.”

Snoop’s SYFL has seen several players turn pro since its launch in 2005 and he remains closely involved in coaching within the league, which serves low-income youth between the ages of five and 13.
