As a pre-game to his HBO Forest Hills Drive: Homecoming special airing Saturday, Jan 9, J. Cole has released a miniseries.
In episode 1, Cole visits radio stations and a fan’s home to deliver an exclusive first listen of 2014 Forest Hills Drive. He also makes stops at New York, London and North Carolina with Dreamville President, Ibrahim “Ib” Hamad.
In episode 2, meet the supporting cast of characters that make his performances possible.
You also see Cole slide into the producer seat at the back of his tour bus, getting out “average beats” and even referencing comic Louis C.K. to describe how his set comes together.
“I’m like a comedian who goes out in these little tiny cities and works out his act and then he goes out and does his arena tour,” said Cole, noting how he watched Louis C.K. jot down notes onstage during his show. “It’s the same process.”
