Kanye West Addresses Pirate Accusations

Kanye_fakerolling_ohsodjLast week, Ye made headlines when he posted a screenshot of what fans assumed was his computer. What viewers immediately honed in on was an internet tab of the popular – but illegal – streaming service Pirate Bay to download music software Serum. The most obvious conclusion was that he was using Pirate Bay to download Serum.

However sources claim Ye was joking when he tweeted the screenshot. In a chat with the paparazzi, the rapper acknowledged the incident himself.

“It’s funny because, you know, it’s obviously not my computer,” Kanye can be heard telling the paparazzi in the video below. “I took a picture of it in the studio, and then everybody was like, ‘Don’t put that up.’ I was like, ‘Let it go up.’”

“You know, the irony that that was the site that downloaded a million of my albums…” Kanye continued after a long pause.

In true Kanye form, he continued to use the opportunity speaking with the paparazzi to state his personal goals, as well: “This has been a year, 2016, that just really I can express the truth. I just want people to see me talking to you, people not calling me names, screaming out … and just know my heart and that I really want to help the world. I really want to do something to apply my skill set … I want to apply that to something more than something that’s just gonna make me money.”

“I’m the guy that fully expresses himself and shows artists, look, we have a responsibility as artists to tell the truth. Our skill set is to be able to see the truth and say it, whether you say it with drawing, through the way you dance, through an album, the way you rap. That’s why they say kids are like artists because they see the truth and they say the truth,” he added.

He also thanked the paparazzi for giving him a direct outlet to speak out to, as well as wife Kim Kardashian and her family for supporting him, “especially in the past two, three weeks where people are really like, ‘Oh, he must be going crazy.’”

“It’s so funny because all people got was truth. Truth. Truth. Truth. Truth,” he said.
