One Fatality, Three Injured in Shooting at T.I.’s NYC Concert

tipFour people were shot, one fatally, just before a T.I. concert at Irving Plaza Wednesday night (May 25) in New York’s Union Square.

Shots were fired shortly after 10pm Wednesday where T.I. was due to perform with special guests Maino, Uncle Murda and others. Four victims were injured in the incident which ignited a stampede inside the venue. A man was put into an ambulance with a reported gunshot wound to the chest, and a woman was carted out on a stretcher with what appeared to be a shot to the leg. According to multiple reports, two men and a woman were taken to Bellevue Hospital and a fourth victim walked into NYU Hospital. The NY Times reports one of the victims, a male, has been pronounced dead.

According to published reports, the fight started *backstage* and a guy fell onto the stage, then another fight broke out on the floor.

T.I. wasn’t on stage at the time of the incident. NY local news report he was at venue, and several reporters say support act Maino and Uncle Murda were performing on stage at the time of the shooting. Officials say shots broke out in the venue’s third floor green room.
