Lil Wayne Apologizes for BLM Comments

wayne_250_ohsodjWell that didn’t take long. After much criticism of his comments toward the Black Lives Matter movement, Lil Wayne is now backtracking pinning his remarks to the reporter’s line of questioning.

“When the reporter began asking me questions about my daughter being labeled a bitch and a hoe, I got agitated,” he said in a statement to TMZ. “From there, there was no thought put into her questions and my responses.”

When prompted on the late-night news show about BLM, a movement that formed on social media as a hashtag in 2012 following the death of Trayvon Martin, Lil Wayne offered, “I don’t feel connected to a damn thing that ain’t got nothin’ to do with me.” He added, “I’m a young black rich motherf—er. If that don’t let you know that America understand black f—in’ lives matter these days, I don’t know what it is.”

My two-cents: Well that doesn’t make a bit of sense, but I’m glad he became enlightened enough to understand that whatever his stance on the issue he came across as uninformed.
