Chuck D is calling for a boycott of the NFL. “Don’t go to the sports bars. Don’t turn the game on. Leave your team for a year.”
In a protest against the mistreatment of black communities across America, NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick famously kneeled on his knees while the national anthem played before each game last season. His activism sparked both outrage and support from people across the aisle, and now with just one month until the regular season begins, as a free agent, Kaepernick still hasn’t been signed on to a team.
On Thursday (Aug. 10), rapper Chuck D weighed in on the situation, telling TMZ that upset fans should be participating in a full boycott against NFL.
“Don’t go to the sports bars. Don’t turn the game on. Leave your team for a year,” the Public Enemy member said.
