Nominations for the 56th Annual Grammy Awards were announced Friday.
The big front runner was none other than Hov with 9 nominations including best rap album; Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Justin Timberlake, and Pharrell Williams each collected seven nods; meanwhile Drake racked up four.
The Grammy Awards will take over the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Jan. 26, airing live on CBS. Below are some of the categories. See a full listing at www.billboard.com
As usual the R&B and Rap categories brought an interesting list of nominees. Lots of “no ma’ams,” but congrats. How can we make these categories better? No Justin Timberlake in the major categories? No J.Cole in some of the major rap categories? I’m going to resist the urge to call names in the opposite direction because this is a joyous occasion.
