Mint Condition

The weather is finally starting to break – woo-hoo!!! color_edited-1This means far more outings and no outwear to cover my outfits.  With that in mind, I like to be aware of the latest trends.  Some I hop on – as long as it fits me, my style, body, etc.  I’m not one to force a look.  As we all should know by now – not everything is for everybody.

The big color trend is apparently pastel colors.  Ewww, blah.  Pastels make me think of babies and Easter.  Those are not the images I want to portray on my nights out on the town.  However, there is one color on that palette that I do like.  Mint.

Mint is a cool hue that works like a beige.  It pretty much goes with anything.  Although we all have grown accustomed to pairing cool colors with silver metals, let me suggest pairing mint with bold gold.  For years I ditched my gold for the likes of silver.  Now I’m making fashion choices just to wear bold gold accessories.  It’s so gaudy, it’s chic.

And if you ever need a nail polish to accompany any outfit, I recommend Essie.  I had gotten away from wearing colored polish on my hands just because the upkeep is so cumbersome.  But the volume of colors in this collection makes me completely change my mind.  They’re endless and gorg.  I literally want to try every color.

Oh … and for anyone wondering, the exercise and diet change are finally starting to pay off.  A couple of things I’ve noticed…I can not have snacks in the house. I will literally eat all snacks at one sitting.  For me at this early stage in my diet change, there’s no such thing as portion control.  I simply can’t control myself.  Too soon. Secondly, fish has become my friend.  I try to eat it most week nights.  It’s super easy to cook.  Seeing how I hate to cook, this is right up my alley. So far I’ve been switching off between salmon and tilapia.  Finally, I seem to do really well at drinking during work hours so I take advantage of this weird idiosyncrasy.   Of course I want to drink it all day, but I’m really trying not to be too harsh on myself.  I’m taking it where I can get it.
