Billboard has just named Beyonce and Jay Z the new power couple.
And for good reason. The two released new albums in unprecedented ways—Jay Z through Samsung and Beyoncé through iTunes. Over night – literally for Beyonce – they instantly changed how the industry and fans thought about interacting with music.
After Samsung’s million copy purchase, Hov practically gave his album away; while Bey charged a hefty price for hers. But they both used the element of surprise to bring about excitement.
