Cheers, Now Puff!

diceIn case anyone is wondering, I’m still fooling around trying to loose these couple of extra pounds.  I was working out and cutting back on the calories, but I hadn’t really seen results.  So I had to pull out what I like to refer to as the “big guns” and cut pasta, rice, potatoes and bread. Only then did I start seeing results.  Now I’m not completely carb free.  I did that trend some time ago and found myself pulled over on the side of the road eating Red Lobster biscuits….Long story.  So I thought letting go of the “big guns” was a little easier and so far it hasn’t been half bad.  On the weekends – especially when I’m out with friends – I’m not as crazy about it.  I allow myself to eat.  I don’t want to be that crazy friend with a plethora of dietary restrictions.  I hate eating with that girl.

So speaking of the crazy.  I found this new fad for people wanting the taste and buzz of alcohol without the calories.  Apparently people are starting to smoke their drinks.  WTF?  Partakers are pouring liquor over dry ice to get the vapor effect.  And then they sniff.  For those interested but too posh to sniff, there’s the Vaportini.  The vaporizer was invented by a Chicago woman in 2009 and sales for roughly $35.

The Vaportini works similarly to a traditional vaporizer, in that it involves heating liquid until it releases vapors, which are then inhaled through a straw. In the case of the Vaportini, that substance is liquor and the heat source is a candle.

Like you probably can imagine, when you inhale alcohol it goes directly into the lungs and it also circumnavigates the liver. Keep in mind that the liver is what metabolizes (or breaks down) alcohol, but when you inhale it, it goes directly from the lungs to the brain.

SMH … I’m always amazed by people who think of these crazy ways to either get high or commit crimes.  For both, my question is the same.  Why can’t you put that creative, good mind to better use?
