Remember when Kanye used to get pub for making good music? Now he only gets pub for his epic rants.
His recent rant occurred in Newark. This time he defended Drake in the whole Rolling Stone debacle. “It’s always them magazines trying to pit n****s against one another,” said Yeezy. “So, tonight, it aint none of that. We love Drake.” He continued, “If anything, we gone go after the motherf%#kers writing that negativity. Before they print some shit like that, they need to check with me and him and see if it’s okay before they get ran up in they motherf*#king office. It only const $250[K] to beat your ass,” he added referring to the quarter of a million dollar settlement in his recent assault case.
Ye later revealed his thoughts on Macklemore win. “Macklemore know what it is,” West said. “He tried, he made some good music, he’s a good kid, but y’all know what it is.”
Well, it’s good that Kanye and Drake’s relationship was strong enough to withstand the drama. From my understanding, Drake didn’t deny taking the jab. He just denied saying that during the interview portion of his interview. Two different things.
On a sidenote: When will Macklemore grow some? All these rappers hating on his success sound like bitter hens. So what… he won. Get over it and focus on your own career. The Grammy committee has never changed. What changed is the fact that you (meaning certain rappers) thought they had a shot at winning and instead got their feelings hurt.
