Drake’s OVO Fest Gets Government Funding

This is year 5 for Drake’s annual OVO Fest in Toronto and also the first year that its getting government funding from Ontario. Congrats to ChampagnePapi!

OVO Fest, scheduled for Aug. 3 and 4 is receiving a $300,000 grant from the Celebrate Ontario program administered by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport to stage the two-day festival.

The grant puts OVO Fest in the same lane as Canada’s biggest events like Toronto International Film Festival (Sept. 4-14), the Stratford Festival of theatre, Rogers Cup tennis tournament (Aug. 2-10) and JFL42 comedy festival (Sept. 18-27).

This year the Fest will feature OutKast. In the past, other big performers have included Eminem, Jay-Z, Stevie Wonder, Snoop Dogg, Diddy and Kanye West.
