Eminem’s Back, Jay-Z Extends, Miley Prevails

Here are a couple of stories I found interesting….

MCWTHov Announces More Dates.  Whew… there’s still hope for me.  Jay Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail tour just added a North American leg. He announced the extension Sunday (September 1) during Budweiser’s Made In America Festival. For those trying to plan, the extended dates will be after his 15 stop European tour….which is of course after his sold out Legends of The Summer tour with Justin Timberlake. The dates for the North American leg have not been announced yet, but should be coming soon.  I’m buying those tickets ASAP!

Eminem’s back.  The M.I.A. rapper is about to release his second big comeback album, The Marshall Mathers LP II on Nov 5.  He just dropped the Rick Rubin produced track, “Berzerk” this week, and it appears fans are embracing him with open arms. Industry sources forecast 350,000 to 375,000 downloads.  Now although he went to Rick Rubin for a face-lift, I see some things haven’t changed.  (FYI.. Rick is a legend in these streets. He’s worked with heavy-weights Beastie Boys, Run DMC, Jay-Z, Kanye West) He’s still a lyrical bully.  At 40-years old, I guess he found it necessary to poke fun at 29-year-old Khloe Kardashian in his new song.

“They say that love is as powerful as cough syrup and Styrofoam. All I know is I fell asleep and woke up in that Monte Carlo with the ugly Kardashian.”

Then he goes on to take a jab at Lamar, “Lamar O, sorry, we done both set the bar low.”

What was the purpose of that jab? Not cool.  Personally, there’s enough good music out here for me to pass on Em. #IJS

Real Facts.  According to Miley Cyrus, her VMA performance had 306,000 tweets per minute.  Supposedly “more than the blackout and more than the Superbowl.”    SMH. It’s a shame when you’re okay with mockery.
