As many of you aware, Lay’s is in the middle of their Do Us A Flavor competition where people all over the country have submitted flavors for an opportunity to win money along with bragging rights of being the next Lay’s flavor.
Now, Lay’s has narrowed the submissions to it’s top 4 flavors – Mango Salsa, Cappucciano, Wasabi Ginger and Cheddar Bacon Mac & Cheese.
Despite the fact that I’m still working out to get in this two piece suit for my upcoming vacation, I couldn’t resist grabbing up a bag of the Mango flavor and here are my thoughts.
At first bite, the mango flavor is overpowering.
While I was expecting a more gourmet version of salsa, I did miss the spicy salsa flavor I thought should be there.
What I did like about the chip is that it had a light, refreshing taste which I thought could be a nice compliment a summer dinner.
Not sure I should be doing this since it’s just a review of the Lay’s chips. But what did make the flavor taste awesome was dipping the chips in sour cream. YUM!! This is what was missing from the chip.
Final Conclusion: I give it a thumbs up. For summer, it’s a nice light flavor.
