Chris Brown Says Jay Z Gets PASS for Violent Past

cb_jet.2So Chris Brown is venting  appears on the latest Jet magazine cover. He talks everything from Trayvon Martin, to his own image in the media, racism and anger issues.

Despite his wide range of wisdom (sarcasm), it was his comments on Jay-Z and his love life stood out to me.

On his rumored beef with Jay-Z:  “No disrespect, because I’m a fan, but nobody brings up the fact that [Jay Z] stabbed somebody and sold drugs. He gets a pass.”

On his relationships with Karrueche Tran and Rihanna:
“Relationships are the most difficult part. That’s why I was honest with those two girls and I put out that video. My ex and I broke up because of the “situation” and she had moved on. I fell in love with another girl. Then my ex came back, so it was like, ‘What is a man to do?’ I told them both the truth. I didn’t do the sucker role.”

Hmmm … I beg to differ.  I think what Chris did was very much a sucker move to these girls.  Love is sometimes very complicated.  I’ve often found myself in predicaments where I wish someone else would make a decision for me.  And that was mainly because I had come to a fork in the road where I could no longer have my cake and eat it too.

Caring for someone’s heart takes much responsibility.  At certain times, it means putting their best interest ahead of your own selfish uncertainty.  It’s loving someone enough to let them go while you sort out all the things that may not be right in your life.

What he did was took the hard decision that should have been his and place it on someone else’s shoulders.  Unfortunately, often time as most adults know, people in love may tend to not make the wisest decisions.  These two ladies – Rihanna and Karrueche – certainly didn’t make the wisest decision.  There’s no way without being under the influence of love that their decision to remain with someone so careless with their emotions or feelings should have stayed.  Sadly love is drug and when under the influence you somehow see the best in people or simply turn the check to bad behavior. He knew they would do that so he passed the buck.  So a sucker is exactly what Chris is.

As for Chris’ Jay-Z comment, that’s short and sweet.  A.) What does Jay-Z’s legal troubles have to do with the tea in China?  For those not familiar with the saying, the point I’m making is that these two issues are unrelated.  Chris Brown’s woes are unrelated to Jay-Z’s transgressions.  Chris needs to focus on resolving his issues instead of deflecting.  B.) This comment is what I like to call a CLM – career limiting move.  I doubt Jay-Z will respond because he knows his place in the industry food chain and he attempts to not entertain those in a lower tax bracket.  However, this is not who Chris wants to keep pushing.

At the end of the day, I simply CAN’T with this guy.  I have tried to give him a clean slate and he keeps making mistake after mistake.  I’m baffled at how he never sees the err in his ways.

    • Hey Tortino… Good question. Years ago, they ran Jay through the wash for that. I recall him going thru tons of related court proceedings and I think there was some sort of big payout to end all the drama. The piece that Chris is missing is a.) that was years ago so unfortunately it’s not fresh in everyone’s mind and b.) Jay didn’t contine that pattern of behavior. As he evolved, he let his reckless ways go with it. Chris isn’t there yet. Although he’s not hitting women, he still throws chairs out of windows, goes on Twitter rants, gets into fights. Chris doesn’t get a pass because he’s his own worst enemy.
