Dame Dash Ordered to Testify

dameNew York Daily News reports that Manhattan federal judge Ronald Ellis has ordered Dame to to testify in a lawsuit filed by the man who claims he designed the Roc’s famous logo.

Ellis says, “The main actor is always the person who should be Deposed first. [Dash] appears to have had the most boots-on-the-ground involvement in this.” Dame of course was co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records along with Jay Z.

Earlier this year, a man named Dwayne Walker filed a lawsuit in which he alleges the Roc-A-Fella founders owe him over $7 million in royalties. According to the suit, Walker signed a contract with Dash and Jay Z for $3,500 up front, plus 2 percent of the company’s revenue for ten years.

In May, after Ellis agreed that Jay Z was too busy to sit for a deposition on the same lawsuit, one of Hov’s attorneys claimed that Jay doesn’t remember Walker, and that a contract involving royalties like the alleged 2 percent would never have been signed.
