Rapper Drake is now the new Global Ambassador for his NBA hometown team the Toronto Raptors. This means he’ll assume duties of host, business partner and consultant for the basketball franchise.
“The real goal here is to build up the Toronto Raptors,” he said during a stop at ESPN’s First Take.
He’ll also play a role in the in the redesign of the franchise’s image for their 20th anniversary which occurs next season. That’s big news since the city will host the 2016 NBA All-Star Game. If you thought he was obnoxious this past year serving drinks, wait until 2016.
All jokes aside, congrats to him. Proving once again, you don’t have to hug the corner to make it as an emcee.
