Footage has Emerged of T.I. Backstage at the Irving Plaza Shooting

imageHours after a shooting at T.I.’s show in Irving Plaza in New York City last night (May 25) left one man dead and three other victims injured, video has emerged of Tip backstage.

Captured by Jon John TV, the footage shows T.I. protecting one of the victims with his bodyguard as he called for an ambulance.

The shooting broke out backstage in a green room above the stage of the Union Square venue around 10 p.m. Reports say Maino and Troy Ave’s respective crews may have gotten into a scuffle that quickly escalated. The shooting happened when Maino and Uncle Murda were on stage performing. An employee told The New York Daily News that the gunman and the victims were all credentialed guests with access to the V.I.P. area.

The victim that was killed was B$B member Ronald “Banga” McPhatter, 33, who died after being shot in the stomach. Troy Ave was shot in the leg and was driven to NYU Langone Medical Center in an SUV. The third and fourth victims were Maggie Heckstall (said to be his girlfriend) 26, who was shot in the leg and Christopher Vinson, 34, who was shot in the chest.
