Trey Songz’ recent domestic violence case has been reportedly dropped, because the L.A. District Attorney isn’t sold on the case.
Songz’s lawyer, Shawn Holley, spoke to the LAPD and gave them a myriad of statements from witnesses that debunked the account from the alleged victim, Andrea Buera, of the incident — which allegedly took place during NBA All-Star Weekend last February. Buera claimed that Songz assaulted her after she was spotted talking to another man at a party in Hollywood Hills. She also alleged that she was beaten so badly that she vomited from a concussion.
After the alleged incident, Buera enlisted famed entertainment attorney, Lisa Bloom, to help her prepare to take on Songz in court. As a result, he turned himself into authorities last month, and was later released on a $50,000 bond. Remaining mum throughout the muddy ordeal, Songz issued one statement, and said that he was “being lied on and falsely accused for someone’s personal gain.”
Still, despite the recent news, Songz isn’t completely out of the woods just yet. His case will be passed on to the L.A. City Attorney, who will then decide whether or not they will charge him with a lesser crime, such as misdemeanor domestic violence.
