You know, I really don’t gossip about people I personally know. But for some reason I have been known to salivate over some good celebrity gossip. Here’s some salacious things that have caught my eye.
J. Cole and Diddy Battle it Out. Word on the street is that mega mogul Diddy got into a little scuffle with newbie rapper J. Cole at a VMAs after-party. Anyone in my “circle” knows I adore (I use adore instead of the preferred word love because it sounds less creepy.) Jermaine Cole so you can imagine my outrage. Allegedly, it all started when Cole made a slick comment about Diddy’s girlfriend, Cassie. Some yelling ensued, followed by some drink spilling and possible shoving. No punches. That’s the cliff notes version.
What is true is that both took to twitter for damage control. J. Cole kept his comment simple. “People with believe anything.” Meanwhile, his road manager, Ibrahim, seemed to be a little more candid.
“The Internet is a crazy place you n—z reporting sh*t with no facts, Cole ain’t get thrown out no party and he damn sure ain’t get beat up. Ain’t gon go into details about last night but get the facts right first before you rush to report some sh*t for some extra blog clicks.”
You can see Diddy’s original post about the incident in the picture above. Today that was cleaned up a little to read, “I usually don’t address rumors but I got too much respect for my bro @JColeNC. We are friends The rumors are not true. We had a great party.”
My verdict – bullshit or true: Well, I’m going to straddle the fence on this. Although I don’t know what happened, what’s clear is that some words were exchanged at a high enough volume and with enough force for someone to get the wrong idea. In the end, the road manager said it all. If I had to give some advice, I’d say Cole better let it ride. He doesn’t want it with Diddy. That man has stopped a many of career.
A$ap Rocky Squares Off with MTV Security – So on the VMAs red carpet, rapper A$ap Rocky almost got in an altercation with security while with former (I hear the contract wasn’t renewed) Victoria Secret model Chanel Iman. No one knows what was said, but in a video floating around on the net, you can see things escalate quickly when A$ap went from talking to clearly yelling and squaring off with security. Little Chanel tried to stop her man but that was quickly short-lived by him.
It didn’t shock me that there was a scuffle. When drugs and alcohol get in the mix, usually anger follows close. And how do I know there were spirits in use.? He said in an interview. “I’m ready to have fun. I’m high, I’m drunk, and I feel good to be young.” That was further supported by him jumping into a crowd of fans and apparently breaking the couples’ vow of silence to the media about the status of their relationship. In one truly awkward moment when asked if they were together, he replied affirmatively and went on to add that she was the love of his life. She walked away. SMH. A mess. I digressed….
What shocked me was how he manhandled Chanel. He just grabbed her arm and tossed her to the side. Now clearly his anger wasn’t directed toward her, but he was a little too rough for my taste. Not a good look sir.
My verdict – bullshit or true. Obviously there’s no disputing the authenticity here. It’s on tape. But my best advice to A$ap would be to cut back on the weed and alcohol when he’s with his lady friend. That extra firm grab could either a.) escalate to something more aggressive or b.) be misconstrued for something more sinister than intended.
