Quick Thoughts Vol. 8

swhiteRPattz & Katy?  I hear Robert Pattinson may be keeping company with Katy Perry.  Taking two steps back, remember Rob is one half of the couple who grew mega successful because of the Twilight franchise.  KStew – Kristen Stewart – is the other half.  Remember some months ago, Kristen got busted having an affair with the married director of Snow White and the Huntsman.  Then she issued this messy public apology.  SMH… It’s bad enough that the paparazzi caught her, but I feel like the apology was humiliating to Rob.  To me, it seemed like pouring salt in a wound.  Listen, Kristen is only 23 and –ish happens.  However Rob Pattinson is…..ROB PATTINSON.  How dare you cheat on super hot Rob.  Rob, move on.  She blew it and you’re hot and young.  Enjoy your youth.  These two are too young to be trying to deal with problems only 40 year-olds with kids should be experiencing.  Twenty-something year-olds should just be cutting their losses.  If that’s with Katy, best wishes.

Sarah Jessica Parker to Launch SJP.  Finally!  The girl who put Manolos on the map via her alter ego Carrie Bradshaw is launching her own shoe line – SJP. And guess whom she’s getting help from? George Malkemus, the longtime CEO at Manolo Blahnik. I’d love to know who finally wore her down. It’s seemed like a natural progression for years now. I hear we shouldn’t expect anything as flashy as what Carrie wore.  Instead it may be more a sophisticated, preppy line.  Supposedly we’ll see lots of grosgrain.  You know what that is.  It’s the ribbed-like material found in ribbons often found on little girls clothing.  I’m not sure that I’ll buy a pair.  It’s expected to be priced from $200-$400.  My budget is far lower, but I’ll certainly try a pair on.  I want to experience a little piece of Carrie. They’ll be available exclusively in Nordstrom in January.

Will Smith displays PDA.  Well Will Smith recently caught all sorts of flack when he kissed his 14 year-old son on the lips.  It raised the question, “when should men stop kissing their sons on the lips?”  I say two or three.  First of all that’s a great way to spread germs and no one wants a sick child. Secondly, that age is around the time you start to encourage them to become “big boys” – potty trained, walking, talking. To me, lip kissing reminds me of what you do to a lap-baby. If that’s too harsh another rule of thumb is to stop when your kid no longer wants to be kissed in the mouth. Remember no means NO!
